Devon Collins, Ph.D., is a neuroscientist and science educator. He completed his Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience at The Rockefeller University, where he studied the effect of common genetic variation on opioid self-administration, stress responsivity, and drug-induced alterations in brain function. During graduate school, Dr. Collins became increasingly involved in the New York science communication and outreach community. He co-founded Science Soapbox, a podcast at the intersection of science, policy, and advocacy, focused on highlighting the complex interplay between science, scientists, and the public. For more than a decade, Dr. Collins has taught science to learners of all ages and backgrounds in the lab, through informal science education events and programs, and in the New York City school system. Currently, he is a lead scientist at BioBus, a nonprofit STEM education organization based in New York, which helps K-12 and college students in New York City discover, explore, and pursue science. His work at BioBus allows him to share his love of science with STEM learners of all ages and to leverage his conviction that anyone can learn and appreciate science.
