The Proteomics Resource Center (RRID:SCR_017797(opens in new window)) at The Rockefeller University provides advanced biomolecular analysis to the University community on a subsidized, cost-recovery basis. Services are also available to other not-for-profit institutions. The Center is located in Room RRB157 of the Rockefeller Research Building, in the southeastern part of campus. It operates under the guidance of a Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) , to which it reports regularly.
The PRC team are analytical chemists specializing in proteomics and metabolomics. Its core technologies include liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS), which are applied across proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, and small molecule analysis.
The Center is equipped with both nano- and higher-flow LC systems. Most instruments are of the Orbitrap type, offering high mass accuracy and resolution. A wide range of software tools supports data analysis, and selected instruments are available for walk-up use. A complete list of hardware and software is available here.
The Center’s mission is to help users address biological questions through mass spectrometry. We operate in a boutique style, fostering collaboration between our scientists and users to develop customized analytical strategies. Each year, we support ~200 users and process over 500 sample requests, making the Center a go-to hub for analytical design, experimentation, and data interpretation.
