In 1985, Titia de Lange received her Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam and The Netherlands Cancer Institute. During her graduate work she studied with Piet Borst at the Dutch Cancer Center. In 1985, for her postdoctoral work, she joined Harold Varmus’ laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco. In 1990, she joined the faculty of The Rockefeller University where she currently is the Leon Hess Professor and director of the Anderson Center for Cancer Research.
de Lange has received numerous honors including a Vilcek Prize, a Dr. H.P. Heineken Prize, a Breakthrough Prize, a Canada Gairdner International Award, and a Lewis S. Rosenstiel Award. She has been recognized by numerous honorary societies including the National Academy of Sciences, the National Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the European Molecular Biology Organization, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Royal Holland Society for Sciences and Humanities, and The Royal Society.
