RockEDU Science Outreach represents the collective science engagement and research education efforts at The Rockefeller University. The RockEDU team works in collaboration with our communities to produce programs and resources that promote inclusive science learning. We are known for our research mentorship skills-building programs for scientists, undergraduates, and high school students, as well as day events that serve as an invitation for kids and teens to feel curious about science. As always, we approach our work by supporting people first, science second. We are working toward future where science benefits all of humanity. Join us!

    When the city locked down, RockEDU moved the lab bench to the kitchen table

    With input from participating students and scientists who volunteer with RockEDU, a blended Summer Science Research Program for high-school students was developed. The result was a modified SSRP curriculum with five experiential research tracks, complete with lab supply kits that were mailed to students’ homes.

    New online resource brings science outreach to a broader audience

    With the launch of a new website, RockEDU Online, more resources are now available for learners, educators, and scientists everywhere.

    More than 350 high school students from across the tri-state area attended this year’s event where Kronauer shared how ants can help answer questions about the principles that govern life.

    Rockefeller community symposium brings together scientists and local gardeners

    Sponsored by the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the event brought together land stewards from across the city in an effort to make soil science more accessible to the local community.

    Learn about Jumpstart and the SSRP! Are you a high school interested in doing science research with RockEDU, but don’t know where to start? Join our information sessions to gain insights about eligibility, application processes, and what we hope students will gain as participants in our formal research programs. The sessions are identical; you will not need to attend both.
